Trafi was looking for a way to expand their white-label MaaS platform with promotional and loyalty capabilities. They chose Voucherify as their partner due to robust white-label features, flexible APIs, and strict GDPR compliance. Due to unopinionated APIs, Trafi can quickly integrate Voucherify into new projects, tools, and mobile apps that will be launched based on Trafi MaaS solutions in the future.

Voucherify API integration into Trafi’s MaaS app

Integrating gift vouchers into the Trafi’s stack took around 5 months. Jelbi’s team can now build and manage campaigns fully independently from Trafi thanks to direct access to a marketer-friendly Voucherify Dashboard.

Jelbi – incentivizing green mobility with gift vouchers

Jelbi is the first Trafi client to use Voucherify-powered gift vouchers. Jelbi uses gift cards to support a couple of different campaigns:

Incentivizing mobile app downloads

One example of a successful gift voucher campaign was the popular Deutschland ticket, granting unlimited travel on all public transport in Germany for 49€/month. In Jelbi’s campaign, users who  purchased the digital 49€ Deutschland ticket received an extra perk to sweeten the deal – a 25€ Jelbi voucher. The voucher was valid for six months and could be used across all Jelbi’s transportation services.

Customer recovery campaigns

Additionally, Jelbi regularly runs customer recovery campaigns, where, in case of any misunderstandings, users are rewarded with a gift voucher – all managed via the Voucherify Dashboard.

Offline brand awareness campaigns

Whenever a new physical mobility hub opens, Jelbi promotes it by sending out mail and giving out printed vouchers in the neighbourhood.

Additionally, Jelbi successfully ran a promotional campaign for two consecutive years in collaboration with The Long Night of Museums event. During this initiative, visitors of the museum night received a Jelbi voucher together with their event entry ticket. This campaign alone boosted the app downloads by 260% compared to other days. 

Employee benefits powered by Voucherify gift cards 

Jelbi provides mobility gift cards, available for purchase by other companies. These cards cover the daily commuting expenses of their employees in Berlin and can serve as an employee benefit.

Security and reporting – the public sector must-haves

To ensure secure gift voucher validation, Jelbi uses the following credentials to control redemptions: redemption ID, status, user ID, discounted amount, date and time of entering the voucher code in the app, and trip-specific data such as trip ID, currency, and purchase ID. With Voucherify being GDPR and ISO 27001 compliant, Jelbi can rest easy that their data is hosted securely. 

For reporting needs, Jelbi exports campaign data, compares it with payment data, and uses PowerBI as its reporting tool.

Customer engagement duo – Voucherify and Batch

Jelbi uses Voucherify with Batch CEP to drive customer engagement with personalized offers. With an automated connection, Voucherify-powered codes land in user profiles in Batch, ready to be sent out. Given high competition on the mobility market, the key future target for Jelbi is running re-engagement campaigns to re-hook passive users.

Future plans

As for Trafi’s plans for the future, they intend to add referrals in early 2024 which Jelbi plans to use to run their refer-a-friend program. Trafi also wants to add geofencing campaigns and loyalty into their MaaS platform. All that while expanding the Voucherify products to its other existing deployments.
