Incentive experimentation

Test the offer before you bet the budget

Gut feelings are great for lunch orders. For discounts, run quick tests with a capped budget and let the winners win.

Welcome to the discount strategy meeting

Sales wants 30% off, the boss wants 20%, and you want a break. Let the wheel settle it.

The wheel is fun, but data is better

Test the what, the when and the how much. Across every channel and every stage of the customer journey until the winner is obvious.

Test on a few, not on everyone

Run a new offer on one segment, market or channel first, with its own budget cap and redemption limits. If it flops, it flops small.

Put offers head to head

Run competing offers side by side on comparable segments, then compare redemptions, cost and revenue. Let customers decide instead of the loudest voice in the room.

Roll out winners in minutes

Found a winner? Widen the audience, raise the cap, or copy the promo to new markets, without a sprint or a deploy. And stop the loser just as fast.

Test any promo without a ticket

Segments, cart value, products, location, custom data: if you can describe the offer, you can build it. Marketing writes the rules, devs keep their sprint.

Referral data flowing into CRM, CDP, and ecommerce integrations through webhooks and API connectors.

Find the moment, not just the offer

Sync events and audiences from your CEP or CDP and fire offers on first purchase, abandoned cart or win-back.

User interface panel titled 'Test 10% vs free shipping in Germany' displaying details for a marketing test targeting new customers in Germany. It compares Offer A with 10% off and Offer B with free shipping. The budget cap is €2,000, with a limit of one per customer. Below the details are buttons labeled 'Review' and 'Launch'. A blue cartoon character with sunglasses and sparkling stars is at the bottom right.

Build any experiment with Vincent

Tell Vincent what you want to test, in plain words. He builds the segments, rules and spending limits, and you review it before anything goes live

Screenshot of a Reddit post from r/dealhunters stating 'SPRING20 still works and stacks with free shipping!' with 1.2k upvotes and 348 comments. Below is a line graph showing SPRING20 coupon redemptions over the last 12 hours, sharply increasing ninefold before hitting a capped budget of €10,000 out of €10,000.

Every hypothesis comes with a seatbelt

Set a budget and a redemption cap on every test. When it’s used up, the offer stops. No experiment turns into a giveaway, no matter how viral it goes.

Every brand gets its own lab

Split experiments by brand, market or store, with their own budgets and their own people in charge. One team’s bold idea never ends up in another team’s checkout.

Every running and upcoming campaign in one view, so two tests don’t hit the same customers in the same week. And nobody launches Black Friday twice.

Your next experiment starts with a prompt

Tell Vincent what you want to try. He sets up the test (segments, rules, budget caps) and gets it ready. When it’s done, he tells you what won and why.

Your warehouse is the source of truth (we agree)

Sync segments and customer traits from Snowflake or Databricks into Voucherify with reverse-ETL tools like Hightouch. Send every redemption back via API, webhooks or Kafka, so promo data sits right next to your orders, where incrementality gets measured.

FAQs

Incentive Experimentation

What is incentive experimentation?
It’s testing your promotions, loyalty rewards and referral offers on real customers before rolling them out to everyone. You try different offers, values, timing or channels on a smaller group, compare what each one cost and brought back, and scale the winner.
How do I test promotions and discounts in Voucherify?
Run competing offers side by side on comparable segments, markets or channels, each with its own rules and limits. Then compare redemptions, cost and revenue, in Voucherify or in your BI tool, and roll out the one that performed best.
How do I test a discount without risking my margin?
Start small. Limit the test to one segment or market, set a budget and redemption cap, and try the whole setup in the sandbox first. If the offer flops, it flops on a few customers, not on everyone.
What can I test besides discount size?
Almost anything: offer type (percentage, fixed amount, free shipping, points), timing and lifecycle triggers from your CEP or CDP, channels like email, app or POS, audiences, and eligibility rules such as minimum cart value.
Do I need developers to run promotion experiments?
Not for each test. Once Voucherify is connected, marketers build offers, rules, segments and limits in the dashboard, or ask Vincent to set them up. Developers only step in for the initial integration.

Are you optimizing incentives or just running them?
