Every night at midnight the company creates a new offer of a premium brand at the lowest price available on the web. The concept has become popular with customers and enabled iBOOD to expand into seven countries.

Key challenges

One of iBOODs marketing team goals is to drive brand awareness and increase customer retention. To achieve this, iBOOD uses various coupon campaigns across several channels in seven countries. But, as consumers tend to get around some campaigns, iBOOD’s coupons must be strictly tracked and controlled. To help the marketing team with its continued growth, iBOOD needed a more advanced promotional engine.

The problems which iBOOD encountered:

  • Misused coupons - generally available codes are easier to maintain from the software point of view but need more effort as far as the ROI tracking is concerned
  • Expiring promo codes - iBOOD experiments with launching several coupon campaigns in parallel, each of them might have thousands of codes. Updating shop software to accept valid coupons and drop expired ones for every new campaign would  require massive developer effort.
  • Only for new customers - general coupons often end up posted on online deal communities. To control the promotional budget and counteract coupon misuse, the iBOOD team wants to limit some of the discounts to new customers only.
  • Multiple shops in seven countries - launching and managing coupon campaigns targeted at 2 million customers in seven different countries needs ultimate cooperation between marketing, operations, and development teams across a number of locations.
